Second Chance takes you on a heartwarming journey of two children who face the hardship of growing up in extreme poverty, in one of the poorest countries in the world, Ghana.
This film is an inspirational story of the incredible work Akwaaba Volunteers are doing to brighten the future of the next generation. Offering a unique look into what life is like for over 3.5million children facing the extreme struggles of poverty in today's world.

Second Chance - Part 2
4 Years later, we are back with Second Chance - Part 2 and we couldn’t be more excited for you all to see what’s been happening. Join us on a heartwarming journey as we head back to Ghana to see how Jesse and Benedicta are getting on and to see how their lives have changed since filming Second Chance in 2019.
Not only will you get to see the progress these two amazing kids have made in such a short time but you will also get to see the Impact Akwaaba Volunteers are having on the surrounding community and other amazing children who are growing up just like these two.
The documentary follows videographer and director of F.J West Films, Felicity West on her trip back to Ghana in 2021 and 2023 and the Akwaaba Volunteers team, Jordan and King to document the continued work Akwaaba Volunteers are doing to provide education, health care, sports and care for hundreds of children every day in Labadi, Accra, Ghana.

Ghana’s port city, Accra, is the commercial hub of the country.
There was no shying away from the poverty and extreme elements these children live in the capital. Completely immersing myself in their culture and environment was essential to telling their stories in the most authentic way possible.
My aim was to always inspire and highlight the amazing work Jordan and King do with all the children they work with. The real difference they are making to so many lives is amazing.

A little note from the films director, felicity:
Filming and creating my first documentary with Jordan & King was an experience I will cherish forever. Our aim was simple, it was to raise awareness of the great work they are doing for so many underprivileged children in Accra. With their motto ‘Brightening the future of the next generation’ I was inspired from day one and knew this was something I had to be a part of and help in my own way with the skills I have!
The documentary was filmed over a two week period. It was hot, sweaty, dirty but every single day, my heart would burst with how full it felt from spending time with Jesse, Benne and all the other children Jordan and King work with every day! I could totally see why Jordan and King give everything to all these children and this was just another driving force for me to show this in the very best way I could.
I learned so much from this project, and I am now looking forward to my next documentary - Stay tuned!
